MainStreetTM Software

The MainStreet software suite offers a complete, modular and fully integrated financial and billing software solution in a Windows point and click environment.  These applications include Accounts Payable, Budgeting, General Ledger, Payroll, Purchasing, a Master Property Database, Licenses and Permits, Tax and Assessment Billing, and Utility Billing. All MainStreet applications will run under Windows XP, Windows 2000, Windows NT, UNIX, Linux, and AIX, as well as other flavors of UNIX.

We use development tools like Visual Basic, Java, and OPENworkshop, a 32-bit, ODBC-compliant, object-oriented, relational database management system, written by Thoroughbred Software International, Inc. This leading Fourth Generation Language provides MainStreet with a standard matrix for the creation of software applications.  It also includes a Computer Aided Software Engineering tool, providing our system developers with a powerful and consistent environment for system design, creation, and revision.

In addition, our systems include completely customizable ad-hoc query and reporting capabilities, as well as a series of checks and balances to guarantee data integrity.  All are backed by complete audit reports.

Documentation

The need for complete and accurate documentation for new software cannot be overstated. MainStreet is committed to providing user documentation which will facilitate the easy use of MainStreet products after training is complete.

In order to maintain a high standard of documentation, MainStreet product specialists maintain user documentation. As a result, MainStreet documentation is prepared while the software is in development.  Our approach to documentation ensures that manuals are as complete, accurate, and up-to-date as possible.

A manual is provided for each software application, and is automatically delivered with training.  This means that you will receive a manual for each of the software modules installed on your system.  Apart from standard hard copy documentation, MainStreet provides soft copy version of documents for use on networks.

Manuals are either updated or replaced entirely free of charge with each new software release. A letter explaining exactly how to update your existing manuals accompanies update packages.  Users with appropriate security clearance may edit the help text to customize the user documentation.

MainStreet Software Corporation actively solicits suggestions for changes, enhancements, and new features from its customers, for inclusion into new releases.
