any type of cash receipt including utility payments, accounts receivable, building
permits, other miscellaneous permits, licenses, fees, taxes, as well as non-billed
revenues such as grants.
Provides centralized cash collection. You can collect a variety of payment types at a
single location, with cash drawer balancing. You
determine acceptable tender methods and types of payments.
Allows single or multiple transactions per receipt
and accepts single or multiple tender methods per receipt.
Prints detailed cash reconciliation reports and
edit listings that cashiers can use to balance deposits.
Provides an audit trail of all
transactions. Cash Receipts assigns a batch
and transaction numbers to each payment.
Validates a customer's utility bill,
or a receipt may be printed on paper. The receipt or validation includes the time, date,
operator, amount paid, amount posted, change returned and customer balance.
Processes payments for
multiple utility accounts from one customer as a single transaction and prints the
associated receipts.
Supports
cash collection workstations comprised of either a terminal or PC, an automated cash
drawer, and a receipt/validation printer. Bar code scanners may be optionally
attached.
Validates bills/forms,
prints receipts, and endorses checks. Each transaction is recorded on a journal
tape.
Allows more than one
operator can work at a cash collection station. If more than one operator is logged on to
a terminal, each operator must enter their operator code for each transaction. If only one
operator is logged on to the terminal, their code has to be entered only once during the
log-on period.

application. You can reverse, transfer, or
apply payments to specific charges, or have the system apply payments based upon
user-defined priority.
Quickly processes payment entries using bar code
scanning, payment entry defaults, and the ability to accept computer-readable data from
payment processing services.
Warns you of partial payments, overpayments,
duplicate payments, and cash-only customers. Also
calculates change due.
Provides online inquiry. As soon as you enter transactions in Cash
Receipts, they are available for inquiry and review in other MainStreet applications that
interface with Cash Receipts.
Displays the current balance and pending
transactions for each customer’s account, up to the last transaction entered.
Automatically prints audit reports when you process
transactions, as well as deposit control reports.
Processes
utility payments. Utility accounts can be looked-up by account number, the account
name, by service address, driver’s license number, and social security number when
posting a payment to a customer's account or miscellaneous accounts receivable
system.
Defaults utility account
payments to the balance currently owed by the customer. If a customer pays less than
or more than the current balance in a multiple service utility account, the payment is
automatically distributed to revenue categories based on a user defined formula. The
operator may override this distribution for individual needs.
Collects payments for
items such as landfill garbage permits,
garage sale
permits, occupation licenses, recreation fees, and building permits, that are not pre-billed
in any system. This type of posting updates the customer accounts and the general ledger
account.
