An eGov Login enables citizens and businesses to access government services and information at their convenience, on-line, 24 hours a day. Customers sign up online for access to their utility accounts, allowing them to review their account activity, see their current account balance, and make instant online payments towards their account with their debit or credit card.
The process for MainStreetTM eGov is simple to understand, and contains a wizard-like interface, which guides individuals throughout the payment process. Once a profile is created, members can view and/or edit their account information online. MainStreetTM eGov Billings and Payments receives online payment updates from the Web, keeping the City's Utility Billing system up-to-date. This Web application allows the City to easily add e-commerce functionality to its existing utility billing system without the need to set up and maintain additional hardware, software, and personnel infrastructure. By integrating the existing utility billing software with MainStreetTM's shared e-commerce system, the City can save thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours compared to building, installing, and hosting a custom e-commerce application in house.
